This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of environmental projects from the initial project scoping stage through project completion. Projects will be both long-term and short-term in duration and be of varying complexity. The Project Manager will also be responsible for overseeing a team of Staff Scientists in the completion of field activities.
Responsibilities:
- Proposal preparation, developing project strategy, and cost estimating
- Oversee complex long-term and short-term projects

Environmental Staff Scientist
Orange, California
Giles Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Staff Scientist with a background in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, geosciences, or environmental engineering for an immediate opportunity in our Orange, California office. This position will be responsible for coordinating and performing field activities for Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and preparing technical reports. The Staff Scientist will work directly under Project Managers to complete projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
- Collect environmental samples, including soil, groundwater, and soil gas, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
- Coordinate field activities for Phase I and Phase II ESAs, including attaining site access and managing subcontractors
- Conduct Phase I ESA and Phase II site visits
- Prepare technical reports of varying complexity
- Complete required regulatory paperwork and documentation
- Maintain field equipment and supply inventory
- Frequent travel throughout California and Western states
Qualifications:

Mid Level And Senior Level Geotechnical Engineer
Giles Engineering Associates, Inc., a leading provider of Geotechnical, Environmental, Subsurface Exploration and Construction Materials Testing services, is looking to expand our Geotechnical engineering department and is actively seeking Mid and Senior Level Geotechnical engineers to join our Orange (Los Angeles), CA team. All candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational capabilities and be able to multi-task.
Mid level candidates should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical emphasis and 3-6 years of experience. Licensed at least as an EIT, but California P.E., G.E. preferred. Responsibilities would include coordination and communication with field and laboratory personnel through report completion; client interaction throughout the duration of the project including time and expense management. Additional responsibilities would also include more in-depth project management and client contact; report writing and review, oversee field and laboratory services and analyze data and findings, and participation in the business development process with involvement in proposal preparation.
Senior Level candidates should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical emphasis, although M.S. is preferred with 6+ years of related experience. Geotechnical Engineer
Our Dallas, Texas office has current openings for a geotechnical engineer. 3 to 5 years of applicable experience required. P.E. preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year. The candidate must have the ability to provide services to existing clients, and the potential to develop new clients while maintaining strong billability.
