Giles Project, San Pablo, California

Due to recent, excessive winter rains, our clients site located in San Pablo, California experienced a landslide. It was within the access road, adjacent to a 60-foot high descending slope. The landslide impacted the access road, and left uncorrected, was considered to be a threat to the integrity of the existing building. The Giles professional team responded to the site, completed geotechnical test borings and analyzed the stability of the existing slope and the impact to the building. Giles’ analysis concluded that the landslide was fairly limited in size and provided corrective mitigation so that the access road could be re-used upon completion. The Giles analysis, which included detailed laboratory testing, documented that the post-repaired slope would be stable under both static and earthquake conditions.
